Why Vote for Sebastian Kindersley

I am not someone who has been shipped in from across the country to stand as an MP. I am local and I care about local issues; I live here!

  • Sebastian is running for Parliament for one reason only: to represent the needs of South Cambridgeshire.
  • He has been an active District and County Councillor since 1999 and is widely respected for his knowledge of the issues facing our district, and his dedication to making South Cambs a better place to live.
  • If elected to Parliament, Sebastian would go to the House of Commons to represent us, the people of South Cambs – not to be a government minister pulled in other directions.
  • He would continue to live at his home in East Hatley, commuting to London by train (not in first class!) like lots of other people.

Sebastian at the opening of Gamlingay Skate ParkI'd like to say a huge thanks to all the local people who've been contacting us recently to get involved in campaigning - putting up a poster in your window, helping to deliver leaflets, or offering to be a teller at one of the polling stations. A special thanks to the students from Hills Road and Long Road Sixth Form Colleges who have been leafleting, door knocking and keeping the heat on the all important debate about electoral reform.

There's plenty to do - if you'd like to get involved please drop me a line.

The Liberal Democrats

  1. We believe in fair taxes. The first £10,000 you earn will be tax-free - a tax cut for most people of £700 and it takes 3.6 million UK citizens out of tax completely.
  2. We believe in a fair chance for every child: £2.5 billion will be invested into schools to help struggling pupils, and ensuring every child gets the attention they need by cutting class sizes.
  3. We want a fair future for you and your family. We will be honest about the tough choices we face on the economy; we intend to break up the big banks and force them to lend to business. We will also invest in green growth jobs to drive forward the economy as well as addressing climate change.
  4. We will clean up politics by reforming Parliament and introducing electoral reform to ensure all our votes are equal.
